Tuesday, November 13, 2012, 1pm (EDT)
Syringe and solution Injectable medicines are commonly used in healthcare settings for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various illnesses. Unsafe injection practices put patients at risk of infection, and have been associated with a wide variety of procedures and settings. Unsafe injections also increase the burden on patients, healthcare providers, and medical care and public health systems. This harm is preventable through renewed attention to infection control and injection safety practices. This session of Grand Rounds will explore the future of injection safety in public health.
Tentative future Grand Rounds topics include disability and venous thromboembolism.
