Navigating the Meaningful Use and Standards and Certification Criteria Final Rules can sometimes be a challenge. To help with that navigation, ONC has developed grids that map original meaningful use Stage 1 objectives, measures, and exclusions to the correlated 2011 Edition certification criteria and standards.  Today we replaced those grids with new ones that reflect the new mapping of meaningful use Stage 1 and Stage 2 objectives, measures, and exclusions to the correlated 2014 Edition certification criteria and standards.  Visit Meaningful Use Stage 2 page for more information.
We all know there are many benefits to using and having electronic health records (EHRs). Read the Disaster Preparedness and Health Information Exchange blog from Lee Stevens, Policy Director of the State HIE Program, to learn what some states have been doing to incorporate health information exchange into their disaster preparedness activities.
How can your practice achieve Meaningful Use (MU) Stage 1?  Check out How to Achieve Meaningful Use and view the 25 MU Stage 1 core and menu measures of Step 5 under How to Implement EHRs.  Select each measure to get specific information including:
  • Descriptions of the Objectives and Measures
  • Access Resources from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • Learn Lessons from the Field
  • Download valuable Resources
  • Related CMS EHR Incentive Program FAQs
  • Preparing for MU Stage 2
