In This Issue:
New HIT Policy Committee Workgroups
We announced the membership of two new workgroups on the HIT Policy Committee earlier this week.
The FDASIA Workgroup will coordinate with ONC, FDA and the Federal Communications Commission on identifying key considerations to improve patient safety and promote innovation in health information technology (Health IT), including mobile medical applications. For more information, check out the HHS press release.
The ACO Workgroup will identify high priority areas where the use of health IT can support accountable care models. Among the areas the work group may focus on: data aggregation/analytics, information exchange that supports care coordination and consumer engagement.

HITECH Act Implementation

We added to new quarterly reports (Q4, 2012 and Q1 2013) summarizing the status of HITECH Act implementation. These reports attempt to bring together, in one place, all the statistics and activity around the implementation of the Act. New Consumer Videos In Spanish

We launched a pair of animated videos in Spanish this week to help you explain to your Spanish speaking patients how to manage their health through electronic health records and health IT. Help bridge a language gap by watching and learning together how health IT can make a difference to lead a healthier life through care coordination. Que bueno and feliz National Minority Health month!
