CONNECT User Group Meeting

When: May 21, 2013, 9:00AM-4:00PM EDT
Location: George Washington University, Marvin Center, 800 21st St. NW, Washington, DC 20052

The Federal Health Architecture (FHA) is hosting its first CONNECT User Group Meeting on Tuesday, May 21 at George Washington University's Marvin Center in Washington, DC. This event is designed to bring together current and future CONNECT adopters, and other professionals interested in health information exchange.

CONNECT is an open source software product that provides a leading edge, flexible platform for secure health information exchange. By implementing the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) standards and specifications, including Direct project specifications, CONNECT offers organizations a robust, scalable platform to exchange health data with their partners (i.e., other organizations or vendors), share medical information and improve patient care.

This one-day event will:
  • Provide discussions for those new to CONNECT to understand its use cases and role in secure health information exchange
  • Allow organizations to educate each other on how each integrates CONNECT into their IT environments or HIE products
  • Engage the community in brainstorming sessions that discuss the best ways to bring new software engineers into CONNECT open source development
  • Provide a venue for the CONNECT community to learn about and contribute to the CONNECT product roadmap
  • Drive a deeper understanding of the CONNECT 4 architecture and features, including the recent addition of the Direct specifications and how CONNECT aligns with Meaningful Use requirements
Health IT professionals, policymakers, students, and other individuals interested in understanding more about CONNECT and secure exchange solutions for health data are encouraged to attend this meeting.
