Important AHRQ Quality Indicator News
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) sent this bulletin at 03/04/2014 09:49 AM ESTDear AHRQ QI Users,
Several issues have been identified with Version 4.5 of the AHRQ Quality Indicator (QI) software, released May 2013, which require the software and documentation to be updated. AHRQ is working to address the following:
- Update documentation to clarify the interpretation of italicized codes in the definitions of PSI 7, PSI 9, PSI 11, PSI 12, and PSI 13.
- Update SAS and WINQI programs to adequately capture operating room procedures. Although the frequency of cases is small, it appears that cases are being inadvertently flagged to be included in the numerator for several PSIs. While the documentation is correct, we are in the process of fixing the SAS and WINQI programs.
- Update SAS and WINQI software to process 2013 quarter 4 data.
AHRQ is anticipating releasing this updated software (referred to as Version 4.5a) in mid-April 2014.
Thank you to the QI User community for bringing these issues to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your organizations.
Sincerely,
The AHRQ Quality Indicators Team
