AHRQ--Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: Advancing Excellence in Health Care

Using the AHRQ Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture (Webinar)

October 29, 2013

Summary

The Community Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture, developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), is a measurement tool for improving patient safety culture in community pharmacies. The survey enables pharmacies to assess areas of strength and identify areas for improvement in their patient safety culture as part of their quality improvement activities.
Improving the culture of safety within health care is an essential component of preventing or reducing errors and improving overall health care quality. This webinar discussed the community pharmacy patient safety culture survey and how two organizations are using their survey results to implement patient safety and quality improvement initiatives in their pharmacies. Pharmacies that administer the survey will be able to participate in an upcoming comparative database in September 2014.
Note: Since this webinar was held, the survey's name has been changed to Community Pharmacy Survey on Patient Safety Culture.
