Register Now For September 10 Webinar on Strategies To Support Cooperation of Institutional Review Boards

AHRQ is hosting a webinar on September 10 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. ET on various types of Institutional Review Board (IRB) cooperation that can be pursued to support practice-based research. The presenters will define and describe processes for ceding review to a lead IRB, serving as the IRB of record and participating in reliant IRB review. The presenters will also give examples of how practice-based research networks have successfully implemented these processes.

The American Academy of Family Physicians will provide 1.25 elective continuing medical education credits for this live series activity, AHRQ Practice-Based Research Network Resource Center National Webinars, from September 10, 2014 to September 10, 2015. Physicians should claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.Registration is open.

AHRQ is hosting two webinars on the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP)’s research-enhancing databases, products and tools. “Overview of the HCUP Databases” on September 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET introduces health services and policy researchers to the HCUP databases and related resources through a general overview of HCUP’s databases. “Overview of the HCUP Products and Tools” on September 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET introduces health services and policy researchers to the HCUP products and tools, with a particular emphasis on HCUPnet, the free online data query system. Registration details are available on the HCUP Workshop page on the HCUP User Support website. Space is limited and capacity is often reached quickly.
