What's New on HealthIT.gov

In Today's Edition

Welcome to Day Three of National Health IT Week (#NHITWeek)!

While many of you would like to "flip the switch" on interoperability, unfortunately, it isn't quite that easy, Erica Galvez, ONC's Interoperability Portfolio Manager told House and Senate staffers yesterday in a Capitol Hill briefing co-sponsored by the College of Healthcare Information Management and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems. "Many folks have been working on interoperability for many years," Galvez explained. "If it was easy we would have done it already. We cannot just flip a switch," she added. Instead, we are working to build an Interoperability Roadmap with your help. Based on our 10-year Vision To Interoperability, we want your input on the way forward, so take a look at the paper and let us know what you think.

Join the National Health IT conversation online @ONC_HealthIT #NHITWeek and follow the week's planned activities at HealthIT.gov and www.healthitweek.org.
