In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CDC Learning Connection features the Know:BRCA tool for clinicians. TheKnow:BRCA Assessment identifies women who are at increased risk for having a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation based on their personal and family cancer histories. Knowing who may be at risk can help clinicians appropriately refer patients for genetic counseling and provide them with optimal screening and education. Clinicians can download the starter kit to begin incorporating this free tool into their practice.
