Every month, the White House recognizes “Champions for Change” who are hard at work in their own communities to make a difference in people’s lives. Earlier this week, Secretary Burwell visited the White House to help recognize the White House Affordable Care Act Champions for Change – leaders who are sharing the importance of getting covered and staying covered with communities across the country.Of the many inspiring champions, Secretary Burwell met Sarah McBride who is continuing the legacy and work of her late husband Andrew Cray, who was honored posthumously, on non-discrimination protections for LGBT Americans. She also met Sarah’s colleague Kellan Baker who also is doing important work on LGBT health. Andrew and Kellan worked together on the Out2Enroll initiative, which continues its work helping LGBT Americans learn about their new choices for obtaining quality, affordable health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
