Earlier in March, Secretary Burwell announced that nearly 11.7 million Americans are signed up for quality, affordable coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. And leading up to the 5th Anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act, this week, we announced even more good news. To date, 16.4 million uninsured people have gained health care coverage since the passage of the Affordable Care Act. That’s a historic reduction in the uninsured.
The story behind the numbers is told by millions who have freedom, peace of mind, and the security of affordable health coverage.
Every one of these stories is personal, but together these stories show the Affordable Care Act is working. Throughout this past Open Enrollment, Secretary Burwell had the opportunity to travel across the country to meet with people and hear their personal #GetCovered stories.  She also got the opportunity to meet with local leaders and do on-the-ground work with navigators and assistors to get the word out to #GetCovered.  We take a look back at some of her travels during the 2014-2015 Open Enrollment.
Secretary Burwell meets Anne Ha, a 27-year old from Philadelphia, PA during an outreach and enrollment event in October, 2014.
