Barcode technology, while recognized as a way to improve accuracy during medication administration, often leads to workarounds that can hinder medication safety. This webinar will explore challenges toimplementing barcode medication administration in emergency and outpatient care settings and strategies to address these barriers, including workflow design and pharmacy support. A past AHRQ WebM&M perspectivediscussed how barcoding technologies can enhance patient safety.
