HHS Partnership Center Newsletter

HHS Partnership Center Newsletter

HHS Partnership Center w/ Text Transparent

In an effort to continue to improve our communication to faith and community groups around the country, we are proud to continue to improve our communication with the shorter format of our newsletter than in the past.  Our hope is that this gives you a quick insight into resources, webinars and potential grant opportunities and awards in your local community from the Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
To share your efforts related to any of these important issues, please contact the HHS Partnership Center at Partnerships@hhs.gov or 202-358-3595.

Resources and Tools

The My Brother’s Keeper Task Force has released their One-Year Progress Report to the President.  Throughout the past year President Obama and his administration have focused on three areas: Place-Based State and Local Engagement, Private-Sector Action, and Public Policy review.  Since President Obama’s Call to Action, over 200 mayors, tribal leaders, and county executives have accepted the My Brother’s Keeper Community Challenge.  The Community Challenge implements locally driven, place-based strategies to support cradle-to-college-to-career outcomes.   Support My Brother’s Keeper by becoming a Community Ally!
April is National Minority Health Month!  This year’s theme is “30 Years of Advancing Health Equity | The Heckler Report: A Force for Ending Health Disparities in America.”, in honor of 30 years since The Report on Black and Minority Health was first published by former HHS Secretary Margaret Heckler.  Learn more about National Minority Health Month and the events taking place across the country!
The Medical Reserve Corps are a national network of volunteers who can work with your community to address a broad range of health activities.  HHS Let’s Move Faith and Communities is hosting a webinar this month with the Medical Reserve Corps to discuss community health and resilience.  Learn more about the Medical Reserve Corps and the upcoming webinar opportunity!
