Welcome to Day 2 of Health Datapalooza! Among the highlights from yesterday was new research ONC conducted on Patient-Reported Outcomes related to obesity patients with the National Health Service of England. This research sprung from a historic Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. and the U.K. and patient-reported outcomes data related to obese patients who underwent total knee replacement surgery. The next step is the freeing up of related data and giving it to app developers to use to find innovative new ways to help patients. With the de Beaumont Foundation and the Health Data Consortium we are issuing the Obesity Data Challenge. June 29:00 a.m. (Marriott Ballroom) — National Coordinator Dr. Karen DeSalvo (@KBDeSalvo), will be participating in a panel discussion focused on "Rethinking Health Care Delivery with 21st Century Data." Moderated by Susan Dentzer of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Dr. DeSalvo (@KBDeSalvo) will be joined by Todd Park (@todd_park), former technology advisor to President Obama, Dr. Patrick Conway, deputy administrator for innovation & quality and chief medical officer at CMS, Dr. Joe Selby (@joevselby), the executive director of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and Tim Kelsey, the national director for patients & information at the United Kingdom's National Health Service.
10:45 – 11:45 a.m. (Wilson Room B) — ONC's Acting Deputy National Coordinator Jon White is hosting a listening session on "Interoperability and Precision Medicine" with Erica Galvez and Steve Posnack. The session will focus on the part of the $215 million investment in precision medicine proposed in the President’s 2016 budget that supports development of interoperability standards and requirements that address privacy and enables secure exchange of data across systems.
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. (WAMU radio (88.5 In Washington, D.C.) – National Coordinator Dr. DeSalvo, CMS’ Dr. Conway and Kavita Patel of the Brookings Institution’s Engleberg Center for Health Care Transformation will be the guests on the Kojo Nnamdi Show. They will be discussing how experts are rethinking health care delivery in a data-rich world.
12:05 p.m. (Lincoln 2) — ONC's Tricia-Lee Wilkins, Pharm.D., M.S., Ph.D., from the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality, will join a panel discussion moderated by Susan Dentzer on "Data, Drugs and Diversion: HIT Tools and the Prescription Drug Epidemic." Also on the panel will be Dr. Carol Foster, Kaiser Permanente (Mid-Atlantic) and Miya Gray of SureScripts.
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. (Wilson Room B) — The White House is working with the Department of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies to solicit input from patient groups, bioethicists, privacy and civil liberties advocates, technologists, and other experts, to help identify and address any legal and technical issues related to the privacy and security of data in the context of Precision Medicine. ONC's Chief Privacy Officer Lucia Savage, Esq. (@SavageLucia), will lead this listening session to hear what it will take to make privacy as interoperable as the health information itself.
2:40 p.m. (Delaware Room) — ONC's Chief Privacy Officer Lucia Savage Esq. (@SavageLucia), will join Jocelyn Samuels, Esq., director of the HHS Office for Civil Rights, in a panel discussion moderated by Gus Mutscher of PricewaterhouseCoopers on "How Regulators and HIT Developers Work Together to Advance Technology."
June 310:35 a.m. (Lincoln 2) — Erin Siminerio, M.P.H. of ONC's Consumer eHealth group and Vaishali Patel, M.P.H., Ph.D., from ONC's Office of Planning, Evaluation and Analysis, will discuss the Current State of Consumer Access and Use of Their Digital Health Record.

Also participating in the session are Greg Moody, director of the Ohio Office of Healthcare Transformation, and Michael Nutter, Mayor of Philadelphia.
2:00 p.m. (Marriott Ballroom) — HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell (@SecBurwell) will give the closing remarks for Health Datapalooza 2015.
3:00 p.m. (Washington 1-2) — The Health Datapalooza (#HDPalooza) Blue Button (#bluebutton) Workshop will be moderated by ONC's Consumer eHealth Director Lana Moriarty (@LMoriarty1). The workshop will feature presentations from Steven Posnack (@HealthIT_Policy), ONC's director of the Office of Standards and Technology and Erica Galvez, who is in charge of ONC's Interoperability Portfolio. Gajen Sunthara, a Presidential Innovation Fellow, and Josh Mandel of Boston Children's Hospital will be demonstrating Blue Button's capabilities using FHIR. You will need to register for this session in advance.
