One hospital's initiatives to encourage safe opioid use.

This commentary describes how, in response to a sentinel event alert on opioid use, one hospital worked to reduce opioid-related harm. The process included convening a multidisciplinary task force to assess the hospital's existing processes that supported The Joint Commission's nine recommendations and to identifyopportunities for improvement.
