America’s Children 2015 Reports Data on Children’s Health Care Quality; Podcast Available

The Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics’ 2015 America’s Children report has a Special Feature focused on children’s health care quality, focused on four measures of widespread interest: well-child visits, vision screening, asthma management plans, and access to care. A related PODCAST includes interviews with the lead authors of the Special Feature, Denise Dougherty from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and Alan E. Simon from the National Center for Healthcare Statistics (NCHS). Two measures are sourced from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), and two are from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). All four measures are included in HealthyPeople 2020.  The Podcast also mentioned the recently released Maternal and Child Health section of the Healthy Living Chartbook from AHRQ’s 2014 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report.
