Same-hospital readmission rates as a measure of pediatric quality of care.

Preventing readmissions after hospital discharge is a national policy priority. This secondary data analysis found that a significant proportion of readmissions were to a different hospital than the index admission, as demonstrated in prior work. This finding suggests that future studies should examine readmissions to outside hospitals.
