Important Announcement Regarding MONAHRQ's Future and Transition



The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has an important message regarding the MONAHRQ program

Due to the $30 million, Congressionally-directed cuts to AHRQ’s budget, we regret to say that as a result MONAHRQ will no longer be supported after September 2016.

We know you have invested in the MONAHRQ tool; creating reporting websites, improving transparency and tracking changes in health care quality.  We are incredibly proud of all the work you have done. We are truly sorry for the disruption and burden this may cause, and we will do our best to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Over the coming months, the MONAHRQ team will be working to strengthen the existing software infrastructure to facilitate more independent use, and make as much of the software code open source as we can. This will increase your ability to continue using MONAHRQ for your reporting needs as long as possible by giving you the tools you need to customize the software as needed.

If you have ideas about what materials or resources would be most helpful, please let us know.

We will continue to offer full technical support for MONAHRQ through the end of September. If you have any questions or technical needs, please let us know at monahrq@AHRQ.gov.

Lastly, we would like to take a moment to thank you for using MONAHRQ to help expand consumer access to evidence-based health care quality reporting. Over the past 6 years, public MONAHRQ-based websites have expanded to at least 16 states with over 100 million residents, greatly advancing the goals of transparency and value in our health care system. Thank you for coming on this journey with us, and we hope that you will continue your important work.
