Assessment of fidelity in interventions to improve hand hygiene of healthcare workers: a systematic review.
This systematic review of hand hygiene interventions revealed that only 8 of 100 studies documented the extent to which the planned intervention was implemented. It is critical to routinely examine implementation metrics because proven patient safety practices are oftennot effective when tried in new settings.
