HHS Partnership Center Newsletter: Announcements Abound!

HHS Partnership Center w/ Text Transparent

Dear Partners

It has been a busy few weeks at HHS! Here are a few of the announcements that we thought might be helpful to work across the country.
  • HHS is turning up our focus on the many homeless young people in our communities. We are providing  "An Open Door and a Helping Hand for Homeless Young Peopleas announced by Secretary Burwell
  • Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett, and other White House officials hosted leaders of American companies who are standing with the Obama Administration to launch Fair Chance Business Pledge. The pledge represents a call-to-action for all members of the private sector to improve their communities by eliminating barriers for those with a criminal record and creating a pathway for a second chance.
  • The new public engagement campaign in support of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative designed to create access for the public, at all levels, to get involved and take action to advance the goals of the initiative.  Watch and share the video at www.IamMBK.org.
In addition to these announcements, HHS, in coordination with multiple other federal agencies, issued a Final rule amending current regulations to implement Executive Order 13559.  This final rule will strengthen partnerships between HHS and faith-based and other community organizations to provide social services to those in need.
Sincerely,
Acacia Bamberg Salatti, Director
