PHAP Associate Honored at The White House

Public Health Associate Shelbi Flynn has just been honored at The White House for her work at the New Orleans Health Department!
This outstanding PHAP associate was recognized for her Affordable Care Act (ACA) outreach and enrollment efforts as a part of the city’s participation in the national White House Healthy Communities Challenge. Shelbi implemented New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landreau’s unique approach of visiting barber shops and salons to answer questions about the Health Insurance Marketplace and enroll new participants.
Her efforts won the attention and gratitude of The White House Champions of Change program, which recognizes every-day Americans who are making positive changes in their communities.
We invite you to read Shelbi’s blog post on The White House website to learn more about how she increased health insurance enrollment in New Orleans, then find out more about CDC’s Public Health Associate Program(PHAP).
