Role of parents in the promotion of hand hygiene in the paediatric setting: a systematic literature review.

Parents of pediatric hospital patients have been encouraged to speak up if they see clinicians fail to wash their hands. This systematic review found very little evidence measuring the effectiveness of this strategy. In general, parents were not comfortable reminding health care workers to perform hand hygiene.
