Reentry and Health: Coverage, Care, and Beyond

Implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid expansion (in participating states) represents an unprecedented opportunity to maximize health care coverage and access to coordinated health care services among justice-involved men. Reaching these men requires inter-agency coordination, models of coverage and care that meet the needs of men involved with the justice system, and effective messaging about health, health coverage, and care. In this webinar, a panel of experts including Ben O'Dell, Associate Director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships; Danica Binkley, Senior Policy Advisor at the Bureau of Justice Assistance; Tasseli McKay, Social Scientist, Center for Justice, Safety, and Resilience at RTI International; and Aaron Fox, Co-Director of the Bronx Transitions Clinic and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine will share information on how individuals and organizations working with justice-involved men can identify and connect with men who are newly eligible for health coverage under the ACA following incarceration.
