Countries affected by Zika virus have reported increased cases of 

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), an uncommon autoimmune disorder. In 
February 2016, the Puerto Rico Department of Health implemented the 
GBS Passive Surveillance System. Fifty-six suspected GBS
cases with onset of neurologic signs were identified during January 

1–July 31, 2016.
