Seeing Better Care in Ohio, Iowa and Florida

The Affordable Care Act gives communities all across the country the tools to help people live healthier lives. So this summer, to see that progress firsthand, and escape some of the Washington humidity, I decided to hit the road.

Throughout July, I had the chance to visit Cleveland, Ohio; Fort Dodge, Iowa; and Jacksonville, Florida, to see how health care professionals are putting those new tools to work. Doctors, clinicians, nurses, care navigators, and even community groups like the local YMCA have all stepped up to the plate in delivery system reform, and they’re helping us build a health care system that puts patients right in the center of their care.
