Zika virus infection was diagnosed in a Utah patient (patient A) who cared for an elderly male family member who contracted Zika virus abroad. Working with Salt Lake and Davis County Health Departments, the Utah Department of Health requested assistance from CDC. An investigation to determine patient A’s exposures and a probable source of infection followed.
