REMINDER: Move Health Data Forward Challenge Applications due September 8
Submissions for the Move Health Data Forward Challenge are due by September 8 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  For more information about how to submit an application for the Challenge, review the webinar recordings here.  There is a total of $250,000 in prize money available and individual organizations can win up to $75,000.
UPDATE: Security Risk Assessment Tool
ONC and OCR have released an updated Security Risk Assessment Tool to help small and medium-sized health care provider organizations and business associates with their security risk analysis requirement. New features include compatibility with Windows 10, a “Save As” feature, and improved reporting. Download the revised tool and User Guide.
NOW OPEN: Registration for 2016 OCR/NIST Conference on Safeguarding Health Information
The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR) are pleased to co-host the 9th annual conference, Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security, on October 19-20, 2016 at the Capital Hilton, Washington, D.C.
The conference will explore the current healthcare cybersecurity landscape and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule. It will highlight the present state of healthcare cybersecurity, and practical strategies, tips and techniques for implementing the HIPAA Security Rule.

ONC Workforce Training for Health IT Professionals
New health information technology (health IT) training programs are now available to help health care workers and others stay current in the changing healthcare environment and deliver care more effectively. The new sessions include online and face-to-face formats, and are customized to address specific health IT skills needed by physicians, nurses, care coordinators, health IT specialists and other healthcare workers.
ONC will be hosting the final  informational webinar on free workforce trainings. The webinar features speakers from ONC and workforce grantees. These presenters will provide an update on the Workforce Training Program and trainings being offered for Health IT Professionals.
