Health Communication Science Digest -- September 2016

CDC

Greetings!
The September issue of Health Communication Science Digest (HCSD or Digest) is now available athttp://www.cdc.gov/healthcommunication/ScienceDigest/index.html.
This month, the Digest contains many articles that examine various message design issues. Some of these focus on message design in the context of social media and web-based programs (Meppelink et al., Quintero et al., Salazar et al.). Additional articles examine different aspects of message design (Barnes et al., Ho et al., Kim and Lwin, Kim and Nan, Martinez and Lewis).
Novel topics pertaining to the use of social media continue to be popular and are the subject of other articles in the Digest (Bail, Kite et al.).
Some of the articles report on the effects of various communication interventions (Besera et al., Davis et al., Garbers et al.). Media practices and effects are also covered in this Digest (Nabi and Prestin, Paek et al., Young et al.).
The Surian et al. article reporting on the use of Twitter as a public health surveillance tool and the Yang et al. article on health information seeking behavior wrap up this month’s Digest.
