The impacts of a pharmacist-managed outpatient clinic and chemotherapy-directed electronic order sets for monitoring oral chemotherapy.


    Oral chemotherapy regimens are complex and may lead to severe adverse drug events. In this pilot study, nearly half of patients enrolled in a pharmacist-run oral chemotherapy monitoring clinic experienced a medication-related problem. This finding is consistent with prior studiesthat demonstrated pharmacist oversight improves safety of oral chemotherapy.
