Cypress Test Tool- New version available
Cypress 3.1.0 is now available with updates to supports the following implementation guides released in December 2016:
  1. HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA III), Release 1, STU Release 2 - US Realm. (QRDA Category III R2)
  2. CMS Implementation Guide for Quality Reporting Document Architecture Category III Eligible Clinicians Programs Version 0.1. Implementation Guide for 2017.
Conformance to these new Implementation Guides will be enforced on all QRDA Category III submissions using the 2016 Bundle for the 2017 Reporting Period.  There will be no change to QRDA Category I submissions using the 2015 Bundle for the 2016 Reporting Period.
From now until February 10th, 2017
Cypress 3.0.3 will continue to be available for testing and certification.  During this time, health IT developers can use Cypress 3.0.3 to certify to:
  • The 2015 eCQM specifications.
  • The 2016 eCQM specifications.
  •  Please note that the Implementation Guides used for QRDA Category III validation are different (and in conflict with) the Implementation Guides for CMS submission.  For this reason health IT developers are discouraged from using 3.0.3 to certify with the 2016 eCQMs.
After February 10th, 2017
Cypress 3.0.3 is retired.
Cypress 3.1.0 will be available to test and certify to:
  • The 2015 eCQM specifications.
  • The 2016 eCQM specifications.
Additional information on the updated version of the Cypress Testing Tool can be found in the Cypress v3.1.0 release notes.

Edge Testing Tool - 2015 Edition Testing by Criteria
The ONC Edge Testing Tool (ETT) has deployed a usability enhancement that organizes tool-based test cases by criteria. This capability is accessed by selecting "2015 Edition Testing by Criteria" from ETT's main menu. This menu selection will provide access to tool-based tests organized by §170.315(h)(1), §170.315(h)(2), and §170.315(b)(1). Initially, only §170.315(h)(1) is available, with the other criteria to be deployed in future versions of the tool. This new organization of tests can be found on the Edge Testing Tool webpage.
Questions concerning this new Edge Testing Tool capability can be directed to: SITTeam@hhs.gov
