New Web Feature Article: America Fights Opioid Overdose

The majority of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. involve an opioid. In fact, 91 Americans die every day from an opioid-related overdose. We all have a role to play on the front line of this fight against opioid overdoses. Here at CDC, our role is to support physicians with tips and tools for safer prescribing of opioids, and to prevent opioid misuse and overdoses. Today is the first day of the 2017 National Rx Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit, where CDC meets with diverse groups working on prescription drug and heroin overdose prevention, and we share resources on how we can best work together to protect the health and safety of fellow Americans. Read the new Feature Article to learn more.
