A multicomponent fall prevention strategy reduces falls at an academic medical center.

Fall prevention remains a patient safety priority. This pre–post study of a multimodal quality improvement intervention in three hospital units demonstrated a decrease in the number of falls. However, the lack of concurrent controls makes it unclear whether this change was attributable to the intervention.
