NIDILRR/NCOA host webinar series in October

Webinar series State of the Science: Advances at the Intersection of Aging and Long-Term Disability

The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) along with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) will host a webinar series during the week of October 16. This series, State of the Science: Advances at the Intersection of Aging and Long-Term Disability, will highlight recent advances in research, support, and long term services for people aging with disabilities.
As the U.S. population ages, an increasing number of Americans with disabilities acquired early in life are living into their later years. These individuals are said to be “aging with disability” and represent a growing population with unique healthcare needs.
Participants in this webinar series will learn more about:
  • New policies and approaches to maximize access to healthcare, long-term services and supports, and evidence based programming.
  • Recent research advances in key areas, including long-term services and supports, community access and autonomy, and healthcare policy changes for people aging with disabilities.
This webinar series takes place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 16 (session 1); Wednesday, October 18 (session 2); and Friday, October 20 (session 3).

  • Lois Verbrugge, University of Michigan
