Menu of State Long-Term Care Facility Influenza Vaccination Laws. CDC's Public Health Law Program (PHLP) has published a series of menus of state healthcare facility vaccination laws. This newest menu should be useful for attorneys, public health practitioners, and policy makers interested in prevention of influenza in long-term care facilities.

Journal Article—Transitioning From Paper to Digital: State Statutory and Regulatory Frameworks for Health Information Technology. In all health system sectors, electronic health information (EHI) is created, used, released, and reused. This PHLP article, published in Public Health Reports, examines states’ efforts to use law to address EHI uses and discusses the EHI legal environment. (Subscription required.)

Hot Topics at the Intersection of Public Health and Health Care, Part I: Outbreak, Disaster, or Other Emergency: Is Your Health Care Client Prepared? The American Health Law Association, in collaboration with PHLP, is offering the first in a three-part webinar series about emergency preparedness inside and outside healthcare settings. Speakers will discuss ways to use legal assessment, employee training, and professional agreements to prepare healthcare organizations to respond to emergency situations. Speakers will also describe lessons learned from Ebola and active shooter incident scenarios. This free webinar will take place on Tuesday,September 12, 2017, at 1:00–2:30 pm (EDT).
