As part of National Health IT Week 2017, October 2-6, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) will be hosting two public events:
National Health IT Week Celebration of Advancements in Interoperability and Usability
Join ONC for two panels of distinguished public and private sector partners highlighting advancements in interoperability and usability. This event will be hosted by Principal Deputy National Coordinator for Health IT Genevieve Morris and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health Technology Reform John Fleming, MD. Registration information will be available soon.

2018 Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) Update
The Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA), a catalog of standards and implementation specifications that can be used to fulfill specific interoperability needs in health care, recently underwent some updates, has some new content, and is now more interactive. ONC wants to hear your feedback before the 2018 Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) reference edition is published later this year. New Health IT Playbook Webinar
New material is being added to the Health IT Playbook! The most prominent addition is the inclusion of the American Medical Association (AMA) STEPS Forward modules. These modules consist of an interactive practice transformation series offering innovative strategies that will allow physicians and their staff to thrive in the evolving health care environment. Additional new content includes features on opioids and PDMP as well as behavioral health. Learn more about the Health IT Playbook’s latest update by joining ONC for a public webinar.

In case you missed it, yesterday was National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day. In recognition of this day, ONC published a blog post showing how electronic data helps providers better manage the care of patients living with HIV and AIDS. CMS: Electronic Clinical Quality Measure (eCQM) Value Set Addendum for the 4th Quarter 2017 Reporting Period for Hospital Quality Reporting Programs Now Available

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued an addendum to the electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) annual update specifications published in April 2016. The addendum updates the eCQM value sets, technical release notes and the Binding Parameter Specification (BPS) for the 4th Quarter 2017 reporting period for Eligible Hospitals (EHs) and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). These changes affect electronic reporting of eCQMs for the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) and Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs for EHs and CAHs.
