Interoperability Proving Ground (IPG) Spotlight
Check out this week’s Interoperability Proving Ground (IPG) Spotlight project, FHIR-based terminology server at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, NY, NY that maintains clinical concepts in a large semantic data network.
Interested in having your interoperability project featured as an IPG Spotlight? Simply submit a new project at the IPG or update the status of a project that had been posted within the last 90 days. Once a project is submitted or updated, projects will automatically be added to the feature queue to be randomly selected as a featured project. Sync for Genes Phase 2 Pilots Submission Extension
The deadline for the Sync for Genes Phase 2 Pilot has been extended. The pilot tests real-world use cases using the Health Level 7 (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR®) Genomics Implementation Guidance as part of the work to advance the All of Us Research Program. Interested Sync for Genes Phase 2 participants must submit the Pilot Profile to Mr. Apurva Dharia before 8:00pm ET Friday, December 22, 2017.
The deadline for the Sync for Genes Phase 2 Pilot has been extended. Secure API Server Showdown Challenge: Stage 1 Deadline
Developers are invited to build a secure, ready-to-use FHIR server as part of the latest ONC challenge - the Secure API Server Showdown. The winning FHIR server will have security built-in using current industry standards, best practices, and recently issued healthcare-specific implementation guide requirements. The deadline for Stage 1 is 11:59pm ET Monday, January 15, 2018. Submissions can be uploaded via the submission form on the challenge website.

CMS: Join the CMS Blue Button® API Developer Preview
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched a Developer Preview for the CMS Blue Button API. Third-party software developers participating in the preview can build integrations to access sample Medicare Parts A, B, and D claims data and provide feedback on the prototype. This data reveals a variety of information about a beneficiary’s health, including type of Medicare coverage, drug prescriptions, primary care treatment, and cost. Join the developer preview.
