Statement Regarding the National Registry of Evidence Programs and Practices

Statement Regarding the National Registry of Evidence Programs and Practices (NREPP) and SAMHSA’s New Approach to Implementation of Evidence-based Practices   


SAMHSA’s NREPP program as currently configured often produces few to no results when such common search terms as “medication-assisted treatment” or illnesses such as “schizophrenia” are entered into its website. There is a complete lack of linkage between all of the evidence-based practices that are necessary to provide effective care and treatment for those living with serious mental illnesses and addictions, as well. Americans with these conditions are dying every day, and they deserve better. SAMHSA is moving toward evidence-based practices that cover a continuum of care for people in need of treatment and supports.
