Health IT Advisory Committee
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) will host the first public meeting of the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) this Thursday, January 18. The HITAC, created by the 21st Century Cures Act, replaces ONC’s previous federal advisory committees and is charged with making recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health IT. The HITAC’s recommendations are expected to relate to the implementation of national and local health IT infrastructure, including policies, standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria that advance the electronic access, exchange, and use of health information. The open meetings of the HITAC will provide the opportunity for the public to provide direct input to HHS about the implementation and use of health IT.

If you are unable to attend or stream, a recording of the meeting will be made available on HealthIT.gov. Interoperability Proving Ground (IPG) Spotlight
This week’s Interoperability Proving Ground (IPG) Spotlight project is Pharmacist eCare Plan. This project aims to develop eCare plans for pharmacists through enhanced medication management content based on the templates in the HL7 Implementation Guide for C-CDA Release 2: Consolidated CDA for Clinical Notes.
Have your interoperability project featured as an IPG Spotlight by submitting a new project at the IPG or update the status of a project that had been posted within the last 90 days. Once a project is submitted or updated, it will be added to the queue to be randomly selected as a featured project. CMS: QPP Update - New Data Submission System
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) launched a new data submission system for clinicians participating in the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Clinicians can now submit all of their 2017 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) data through one platform. Clinicians are encouraged to log-in early to familiarize themselves with the system.
