Using the patient safety huddle as a tool for high reliability.

Huddles increase clinical team awareness of activities and enable members to discuss concerns. This commentary describes a huddle process used at one hospital to engage staff and leadership in working together toward high reliability by improving interdisciplinary communication, use of metrics, and incident reporting.
