SAMHSA invites you to join a Technical Assistance Coalition webinar with Mental Health America about the importance of school-based suicide and self-harm prevention. The rise of self-harm and suicide among youth presents a growing need for the use of evidence-based practices to improve intervention, support, and treatment among youth. School-based and community settings offer many opportunities to employ such practices to foster positive behavioral change. The presenters will discuss the challenges in implementing prevention efforts in school-based settings and best practices for supporting suicide prevention.

Considerations for Placement in Recovery Housing for Individuals Living With Severe Mental IllnessTuesday, May 8, 2018 | 1:30–3 p.m. Eastern Time
SAMHSA invites you to join a Technical Assistance Coalition webinar with the National Council for Behavioral Health exploring the four levels of recovery housing (Peer Run, Monitored, Supervised, and Service Provider) for individuals with severe mental illness. The presenters will share about how an individual’s readiness for change impacts their ability to succeed in the various levels of recovery housing. They will also review issues related to culture, structure, risk, social support, and engagement, and discuss the importance of integrated health care, co-occurring treatment, peer support, and skill building within the context of placing individuals in the recovery housing model.
